  • Do I need permission from my town?
    Yes! Even some temporary signs and banners will need to have permits. We will help to procure these for you.
  • What is a proof?
    A Proof is a way of insuring that we both agree. Typically this is done online with a quick email. On multi-colored jobs and detailed work, we will do a press proof and produce a small representation of the final product. Proofs are necessary to make sure you are satisfied with your purchase.
  • How do I get an estimate?
    Just a phone call away, 269.982.7446 and our team will do a site survey at your location to assist you with your sign needs. Most banners and small signs may be ordered right at the counter.
  • Are your signs made in-house?
    In house projects offer the best turn around. Work can be controlled from start to finish. We always use the best sub contractors with reputations that you can trust. Our ability to supply all types of products means that some of the products we sell are not directly produced by Art & Image.
  • Is there a guarantee?
    You bet. We stand behind all signs for up to one year. Most manufacturers warranties run out after 90 days. Your best bet is to ask anyone in Southwest Michigan and they will tell you. Ask family, friends and especially small business owners where they go to get quality signs made fast.

About Art & Image

Owner Scott Schonschack bought an existing sign making company called Adver-SIGN in 1992, located in St. Joseph, Michigan. He operated from an 800 sq. ft. shop, without a "real" production area or bay for vehicle lettering for 6 years.

In 1994 Scott teamed up with a local radio station to operate a franchised sign shop under a new name. The shop wasn't much better in size, but he did get a garage for installs (when the station van wasn't in there!) This partnership would last until the Fall of 1997. The station then "downsized" eliminating the sign shop. This was Scott's chance to go it on his own, again. The perfect opportunity to take his shop to the next level. Art & Image, Inc was born. With a nice view of the St. Joseph river and Clementines restaurant across the parking lot, Scott took his dream to a new level. Expanding the sign "shop" into a full service fabrication studio to serve all of Southwest Michigan. It would not be long before ground would break for yet another chapter.

Our new location is right on Napier Avenue in Benton Harbor. Perfectly placed for our customers in the Twin Cities. We couldn't be happier in our new digs and look forward to working with you on your next project. Art & Image, Inc. continues to serve customers Nationwide.
